This page explains what Skills Directory collects and what we do with it. We don't sell personal data.

What we collect

  • Account details. If you sign in with GitHub, we get your GitHub username, name, avatar, and email address.
  • Email address. If you join a list or waitlist.
  • Payment details. Stripe handles checkout. We see your email, subscription status, and billing country. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, votes, reports, and basic device and browser details, collected through analytics and server logs.
  • Browser extension. On GitHub pages that show a SKILL.md or a skills folder, the Skills Directory extension sends us that repository's name and folder path to look up the skill. It doesn't read other sites, send your browsing history, or run analytics. To show Pro features, it reads whether Pro is on from our own cookie.
  • Skill Manager. The Skill Manager app runs on your computer and reads your skill folders and Claude Code history there. It sends us only a fingerprint (hash) of each SKILL.md, plus the repository and path that npx skills recorded when you installed it, to look up grades and updates. When you scan a skill with Pro, it uploads that one skill folder to our scanner. Your usage history never leaves your computer.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the site:

  • Stripe, for payments
  • Supabase, for accounts and our database
  • Vercel, for hosting
  • Loops and Resend, for email
  • OpenPanel and Google, for analytics and ad measurement

How long we keep it

We keep account and subscription records while your account is active, and payment records as long as tax law requires.
