# Announcement Plan

Use when a launch, milestone, partnership, funding event, policy change, research result, or company development requires coordinated public communication.

## Procedure
1. Define what is changing, why it matters now, who needs to know, and the action or understanding the announcement should create.
2. Separate the factual announcement from broader positioning and identify every claim requiring verification or approval.
3. Define audience-specific message hierarchy for media, customers, community, partners, employees, and other relevant groups.
4. Choose announcement surfaces such as press outreach, newsroom post, blog, social, email, event, or direct customer communication based on audience behavior.
5. Prepare spokesperson, Q&A, proof, customer or partner approvals, visuals, links, and background material before public timing is locked.
6. Coordinate embargoes, time zones, partner releases, product availability, support, sales, and status messaging so the public story matches reality.
7. Define monitoring and response ownership for questions, errors, media requests, customer confusion, and factual corrections.
8. Plan follow-through after the first day so useful coverage, customer education, or community conversation can continue without repeating the announcement endlessly.

## Decision rules
- Announcement timing should match the real availability or state being claimed.
- Different audiences can need different detail while sharing one factual core.
- Do not manufacture urgency with unsupported superlatives.
- Correct factual errors quickly and visibly enough for affected audiences.

## Quality gate
The plan is ready when facts and claims are verified, audiences and channel roles are clear, assets and spokesperson support exist, timing coordinates with operational reality, response ownership is assigned, and public communications can proceed without contradictory versions of the announcement.
