Use when creating or standardizing the visual identity of a product, company, campaign, or public-facing initiative.
## Procedure
1. Translate positioning and audience into visual attributes and constraints.
2. Define the core identity elements: logo behavior, typography, color, shape, imagery/illustration, iconography, and layout.
3. Design the system for real surfaces, including small, large, digital, social, document, and product contexts as relevant.
4. Specify hierarchy, combinations, contrast, and prohibited uses rather than providing assets without rules.
5. Check accessibility and legibility where identity elements carry functional content.
6. Produce examples that demonstrate flexibility without losing recognizability.
7. Validate consistency across representative touchpoints.
## Quality gate
A brand system should help other people make good visual decisions without requiring the original designer for every asset.
