Research, design, audit, or change price levels, value metrics, tiers, freemium and trial structure, usage and subscription models, discounts, price increases, and pricing pages. Use when deciding what to charge, how plans differ, or why monetization is misaligned; use positioning-and-offer for the surrounding frame, guarantees, and bonuses, and upgrade-moments for in-product paywalls.

# Pricing and Packaging
Pricing is a market, product, economics, and operating decision. A competitor table or willingness-to-pay survey does not reveal one objectively correct number.
If `.agents/marketing-context.md` exists, read it first; it is the truth file every skill in this hub shares, and its evidence states are constraints. Read [pricing-system.md](references/pricing-system.md) for learnable prices, models, value metrics, tiers, research methods, page teardowns, and price increases.
## Operating contract
1. Define segment, use case, value created, alternatives, buying unit, delivery cost, sales motion, retention, and current price behavior.
2. Choose research methods that match the decision and state their limitations.
3. Compare price level, metric, packaging, commitment, discount, trial, and migration separately.
4. Model customer and business outcomes under explicit scenarios.
5. Produce a complete recommendation, rejected options, implementation and migration plan, communications, and monitoring thresholds.
Do not invent willingness to pay, conceal total cost, or assume a public pricing-page edit changes existing contracts or billing state.
## Return
Evidence, pricing thesis, model and metric, tier table, economics, customer impact, page changes, research or experiment plan, migration and communications, risks, and review condition.
