# Chock Init
Bootstrap a consumer repo with the minimal Chock surface. Creates `AGENTS.md`, `docs/`, `.agents/`, `.chock/config.yaml`, and agent wrappers for every surface: `.claude/CLAUDE.md`, `.cursorrules`, `.cursor/rules/chock.mdc`, `.windsurfrules`, `.windsurf/rules/chock.md`, `.devin/README.md`, `.gemini/GEMINI.md`, `.grok/GROK.md`, `.kimi-code/AGENTS.md`, `.github/copilot-instructions.md`, `.github/agents/chock.agent.md`, `codex.md`, `CONVENTIONS.md`, `.aider.conf.yml`, `replit.md`, `guidelines.md`. Default (no agent selection): `.claude/CLAUDE.md`, `.github/copilot-instructions.md`, `.gemini/GEMINI.md` only. Idempotent.
## Procedure
1. inputs(repo_path, agents[], agent_agnostic).
2. Delegate deterministic scaffolding to the CLI: `chock init [--agents ...] [repo_path]`.
3. After the CLI finishes, review `AGENTS.md` and `docs/` with the user and hand off to `policy-init` for the first business policy.
## Rules
- Never duplicate deterministic setup logic that the CLI already performs.
- Do not ask for a `framework_path`; the CLI carries the baseline packs.
- Hand edits to derived wrappers are not preserved on re-run.
- Never touch root `README.md` or user files in `docs/`.
- YAGNI: add only requested wrappers; delete wrappers for deselected agents.
## References
Load on demand; do not inline.
- `references/interview.md` — the conversational flow for choosing agents and classifying the repo. Read before step 1 when inputs are not already supplied.
- `references/adapters.md` — which wrapper file each agent expects. Read when an agent is unfamiliar or a wrapper needs checking.
- `references/templates.md` — the catalog under `assets/templates/` and its substitutions. Read when inspecting or changing generated output.
