# Value-Based Questions — Easy Marks Most Students Miss

## What Are Value-Based Questions?

## The Formula for Answering Value-Based Qs
```
STEP 1: Identify the VALUE being tested (1M)
  → Environmental awareness, social responsibility, civic sense,
    empathy, scientific temperament, national integration

STEP 2: Answer the CONCEPT part (2-3M)
  → Use NCERT knowledge as usual

STEP 3: Connect VALUE + CONCEPT (1M)
  → "This shows environmental awareness because [NCERT concept]"
```

## Common Values Tested in CBSE

### Science Values
```
Environmental awareness: pollution, conservation, waste management
Scientific temperament: questioning, evidence-based thinking
Health consciousness: balanced diet, exercise, hygiene
Social responsibility: blood donation, organ donation, vaccination
Sustainable development: renewable energy, reduce-reuse-recycle
```

### SST Values

National integration: unity in diversity, secularism
Democratic values: participation, accountability, transparency

### Science Value-Based

A: (a) Values: Environmental consciousness, community leadership,
       and commitment to sustainable development.
   (b) Benefits of solar energy:
       (i) Solar energy is renewable and does not cause pollution.
       (ii) It reduces dependence on fossil fuels which are non-renewable.
   (c) Priya shows social responsibility by not only adopting clean
       energy but also spreading awareness in her community, contributing
       to reducing carbon emissions and climate change.

### SST Value-Based

Q: "During elections, Ravi noticed that many young voters were not going
    to vote. He organized an awareness campaign."
A: (a) Values: Democratic participation, civic responsibility, and
       awareness of fundamental duties.
   (b) Importance of voting:
       (i) Voting is a fundamental right that strengthens democracy.
       (ii) Higher voter turnout ensures better representation.
   (c) As per Article 326 of the Constitution, every citizen above 18
       has the right to vote. It is our duty under Article 51A to
       participate in the democratic process.

Most students write vague answers like "Raju is a good person."
Write SPECIFIC values + NCERT concepts = full marks.
